ANDE® Rapid DNA at Booking
Run DNA on arrestees for potential matches to unsolved cases
ANDE® Rapid DNA is easily integrated into the booking environment.
A buccal swab is taken from the arrestee and can be processed in under two hours.
After processing, the CODIS-eligible DNA profile is automatically sent to the FBI’s CODIS database. If there is a “hit”, an automatic notification is made.
Don’t release violent offenders – search CODIS during the booking process and match unsolved cases to arrestees while they’re still in custody.
How it Works
1. Collect Buccal Swab
2. Insert Up to Five Swabs in Instrument
3. Profile Automatically Transmitted to the FBI
4. Rapid Notification of Hits

Preventing Crime
Had DNA been collected at booking in 1993 when Andre Crawford was first arrested for felony theft, he could have been linked to his first murder where DNA evidence was recovered. Instead, he went on to murder eleven more women and commit two sexual assaults over six subsequent years.
